Q: Is this only for iChat?
A: Yes, iUSBCam is only for iChat and has no effects at all on other programs.
Q: Do you offer volume discounts for iUSBCam?
A: Yes, please refer to the volume-pricing
schedule. Discounts will be reflected in your shopping cart automatically.
Q: Why isn't it working for me?
A: Please read over the support page for help.
Q: I'm confused. Is iUSBCam a camera driver?
A: No. iUSBCam fixes iChat so that it will recognize USB cameras.
Your camera must already be ready and working. OS X support is available
for many old and new webcams. Check here if you need drivers.
Q: Can you add support for my obscure old camera?
A: We don't decide which cameras are supported. See the previous answer.

A: No. As of version 2.0, it is not required.
Q: I'm a registered user but I've lost my download or my email address has changed or I need my upgrade!

Q: Will iUSBCam allow me to use an iSight for video conferencing on my ancient G3?
A: Yes, it will. But it will be slow. Try the demo to see if performance is acceptable before purchasing.
Q: My iChat says "This computer does not support video conferencing."
A: iUSBCam is not installed correctly. See troubleshooting for possible
solutions.
Q: Will installing iUSBCam allow me to receive one-way videoconferences on my old G3?
A: Yes.
Q: My camera doesn't work well in low light. What can I do?
A:
Try adjusting the Brightness using the "Show Video Settings" option in the "Video" menu.
For a very high-quality USB cam that works very well in low light, we
recommend the Logitech
QuickCam for Notebooks Pro.
Q: Will iUSBCam function with iChat AV 2.1?
A: Yes.
Q: Will iUSBCam function with iChat 4 (Leopard)?
A: Yes. Be sure you have the latest version of iUSBCam.
Q: My trial ran out. Can I have another demo?
A: Version 2.0.5 resets the 2.0.2 trial, allowing for users who tried version 2.0.2 and earlier to have a second trial period. If your version 2.0.5 trial has run out, please consider purchasing iUSBCam.
Q: Your customer support is incredible! How can Ecamm respond to email so quickly?
A: At Ecamm, customer support is very important to us. It's our mission to make sure our software works correctly for every customer. We can't sleep at night if someone has a bad experience.
Q: How do I uninstall iUSBCam?
A: See Uninstalling
iUSBCam.
Q: Will my weird old USB webcam work with iUSBCam?
A: Try the demo! You'll
never know unless
you try. Check the camera guide for a list of
reported compatible cams.
Q: Why isn't the Video Settings panel working with my cam?
A: These video settings are very camera/driver specific. Your cam might not support certain settings.
Q: I don't get a Video panel in my iChat preferences at all! What's up?
A: It sounds like you have a really old version of iChat. Apple added video conferencing in 2003.
Q: My DV Camcorder powers off after a few minutes. What can I do?
A: All cameras are different, but most have a trick to keep them from going into standby. Some turn off only when they have a tape in them. Some will not turn off if you leave the tape door open. Experiment with your cam to find a way to keep it from powering off.
Q: I'm unhappy with the performance and/or picture quality. Will registering make the quality any better?
A: No, the demo and the registered version are the same with respect to performance and picture quality.
Q: What languages is iUSBCam translated into?
A: iUSBCam is translated into French, Chinese, Turkish, Swedish and Italian. Please contact us if you would like to translate it to your own language.
