Q: What kind of licensing model does Nutshell use?
A: Developers are free to distribute self-extracting installers created using Nutshell. There are no royalties or per-installer licensing fees. Development teams should, of course, purchase a Nutshell software license for each developer or system employing Nutshell.
Q: What appearance differences are there between the demo and full versions of the Nutshell installer?
A: The full version will not display a demo warning message. Additionally, the reference to ecamm.com at the bottom of the screen will not show up. In its place, you will see "Nutshell Installer Running...".
Q: What are the differences between Nutshell standard edition and
Nutshell PRO?
A: In addition to the standard Nutshell GUI app, Nutshell PRO includes
a command-line version of Nutshell for scripting
and automation of installer creation. There are also a few PRO-only
features, which are designated as such in the online documentation: Pre-Replace Launch Codes, Resource Merge, Installer Scripting and installation to an expansion card. Use of the
command-line utility is required to access these features.
Q: Is there an upgrade path from the standard version to the PRO
version?
A: Yes, please contact customer service to obtain instructions for upgrading.
Q: What strings are localized in the Nutshell installer?
A: Almost all strings, messages and alerts are localized for English,
French, Italian, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
